Dr. Maury Docton, DVM

Dr. Maury Docton received his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the US Naval Academy in 1969. He then went on to serve 5 years in the US Navy, 4 of which he served as a Navy SEAL. After completing two tours of duty in Vietnam, he returned to school to gain his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1978 from Ohio State University. He joined his family practice in Xenia, Ohio as staff veterinarian and primary surgeon, simultaneously completing a surgery residency/preceptorship program with the Tennessee Avenue Surgical Services in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1986.

In September of 1996, Dr. Docton joined The Iams Company as Clinical Veterinarian for the Animal Care Center. In August of 2000 he moved into a new position as Manager of Technical Communications in the Research and Development Division, and in January of 2007 assumed the role of Technical Services Veterinarian for the North American Pet Specialty Organization. Dr. Docton has also served as the primary surgeon for the Waynesville Veterinary Hospital since 1979, and the Animal Care Centers of Blue Ash, Fairfield, Forest Park, and Springfield, Ohio since 2005.
