Dr. Diane Levitan, DVM

Diane Monsein Levitan, VMD, Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, is a woman of many talents. A board certified specialist in small-animal internal medicine, she also has published in veterinary journals, been appointed to the Board for Veterinary Medicine by the New York State Board of Regents, and is a frequent expert guest on radio and TV shows.

In addition, she is a writer and news reporter on the Veterinary News Network, and once hosted a twice-a-day radio show. Currently, she runs her own small-animal veterinary practice – while contributing to a number of blogs, including ThePetStyleBlogSpot.

In 2002, Dr. Levitan founded and was first owner of the Center for Specialized Veterinary Care and the Compassionate Care Center. Billed as the world's first veterinary hospital to allow human owners to stay with their pets overnight, the center represented Dr. Levitan's vision of a modern model hospital that also addressed the intellectual and emotional needs of pet owners. Not stopping there, in 2005 she founded the charitable foundation FAITH (For Animals In The Hospital), which provides funds for unowned pets and for pets whose owners cannot afford care.

Dr. Levitan graduated with honors from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1991 and is a member of the American College of Hyperbaric Medicine.

She is the mother of three children, four dogs, three cats and "lots of fabulous fish."
